Today a curious incident happened in the Sindh Assembly. A former Chief Minister of Sindh belonging Pakistan Muslim League – Q was slapped with a shoe by his alleged former employee in public and on camera. Muttahida Qaumi Movement immediately boycotted the assembly session using it as a bargain chip to obtain more ministries and the governorship of the province. Some are blaming the US ambassador’s meeting with Altaf Hussain for this about turn by the MQM also. At the same time the PML-Q also went into an overdrive using it as an excuse to invoke martial law. On which quarters’ support was this game being played remains to be seen. I was deeply Saddened by the incident but when Arbab came on TV to discuss the incident he said something which made me want to slap him with a shoe too. He was indeed invoking martial law or dissolution of the assembly. Meanwhile the governor also has called a high level emergency meeting. It remains to be seen what will happen soon. However the following video will show why Arbab is now being assaulted by the people. These people forget that they are accountable to people when they are in power. Here was a man rotten to the core. A man who incited violence. A man who assaulted government employees, journalists, politicians and personal servants alike. Do you think he deserves any moral support? Also please note that the following video was also shot reportedly shot at the Sindh Assembly or another government venue. You may need to download the video and play it on the FLV player if you do not have access to youtube.
