Sherry’s most welcome pledge on ending dark PEMRA laws
Pakistan People’s Party’s Secretary Information Sherry Rehman, who is also being tipped as the country’s next information minister, has quite reassuringly told the media that her party’s government will reverse the dark censorship laws empowering the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to shut television channels. This is most welcome. If the new government manages to reverse the PEMRA laws and the recent changes in the Press and Publications Ordinance, it will be a huge contribution. Thank you very much madam and we will look forward to the fulfillment of this promise.
